Can-Am Spyder RS, 2012

Features and Benefits
Vehicle Stability System
The Y architecture of the Can-Am roadster allows it to host an innovative and unique stability system. Developed in partnership
with BOSCH† and inspired by automotive technologies, the system integrates ABS, traction control and stability control functions for an incredibly confident ride.

STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM
The stability control assesses your intended direction via the handlebar and determines the vehicle’s appropriate response. The system individually brakes the wheels and/or reduces excess engine torque until control is regained.

ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM
Sensors monitor the rotation of all three wheels. If any of the wheels is at risk of locking, ABS reduces brake pressure on it. This intervention repeats in rapid succession and can be performed independently on each wheel, allowing for maximum braking performance.

TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM
Whenever the Traction Control System detects excessive rear wheel spin (e.g., in slippery conditions), it reduces engine torque by regulating engine ignition and fuel injection. This enables the roadster to accelerate with minimal corrective input from the rider.

DYNAMIC POWER STEERING
The electronically controlled power steering system provides the rider with a varying assist when turning the handlebars. The amount of assistance varies with the speed of the vehicle to adjust the steering input effort to a comfortable level.

Transmission Options
SEMI-AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
No clutch lever. No foot shifter. The Can-Am roadster’s semi-automatic 5-speed transmission uses convenient paddle shifting, a feature typically associated with sports cars. The paddle shift makes for faster, smoother shifting, which means you can get the adrenaline pumping as quickly as you please. Simply apply pressure with your left thumb to shift up and use your forefinger to downshift. It also features reverse for increased maneuverability.

MANUAL TRANSMISSION
Fluid motion stems from the smooth, 5-speed gearbox created specifically for the Can-Am roadster. It also features reverse for increased maneuverability.

Optimum Security
The Digitally Encoded Security System (D.E.S.S.) helps protect the Can-Am roadster from theft or other unauthorized use. The vehicle will not start unless the rider uses the correctly coded electronic key.

Proven Rotax Engine
998cc V-twin Rota x engine - Over the past 50 years, more than 6 million Rotax® engines have been built, powering the world’s most impressive on- and off-road machines. Every Can-Am roadster is equipped with a 998cc V-Twin Rotax engine calibrated for sport or touring riding. Touring engines offer cruise control and electronic throttle control.

Florida Motorcycle Accident Attorney
http://www.theinjurylawyers.com/

Florida motorcycle accident statistics show that motorcycle accidents typically account for a disproportionately high number of catastrophic traffic accidents resulting in brain injury, broken bones, paralysis, and death. Tragically, the vast majority of Florida motorcycle accidents were unavoidable by the motorcyclist who was injured or killed but could have been easily avoided by the other vehicle driver who caused it. The experienced personal injury attorneys at Abrahamson & Uiterwyk understand the complex aspects of Florida motorcycle accident cases, including:
  •     Florida vehicle laws pertaining to motorcyclists
  •     Motorcycle accident reconstruction
  •     Roadway design and architecture as it relates to motorcyclists
  •     Motorcycle design and manufacturing issues (resulting in product liability)
In most motorcycle-motor vehicle accidents, a negligent or inattentive automobile driver is at fault. Some of the common types of collisions include:
  •     A driver swerving directly in front of a motorcyclist
  •     A driver pulling out of an intersection or driveway into the path of an oncoming motorcycle
  •     A driver's failure to follow posted traffic laws or yield proper right of way
  •     A driver's failure to see a motorcyclist when changing lanes or passing other motor vehicles
  •     A driver who is temporarily impaired by drugs or alcohol
If you have questions or concerns about injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash, please contact the Florida motorcycle accident lawyers at Abrahamson & Uiterwyk today. We offer free initial consultations and work on a contingent fee basis, which means that there are no fees or costs unless we win.

Can-Am Media Press Release

For 2011 is the Spyder RT Limited roadster, an ultra-luxurious touring model with an integrated GPS, semi-rigid travel bags, travel cover and striking Pearl White coloration. This model year, BRP designers also made the top-of-the-line Spyder RS-S sport roadster even more aggressive with two new two-tone colour schemes and an array of blacked-out components. In addition to new packages and colorations, BRP engineers refined the entire line-up to make the Spyder roadster experience easier, more comfortable and more fun.

The unique Y-architecture – two wheels in front, one in back – the Can-Am Spyder roadster is a totally unique way to experience the freedom of open air riding. The stability of the three-wheel design and an automotive-derived BOSCH-engineered vehicle stability system (VSS) that integrates anti-lock brakes, traction control and stability control, enables the driver to have an exhilarating open-air experience with unmatched peace-of-mind – be they novice or powersports veteran.

Catering to the long-distance rider wanting to sacrifice nothing for comfort and style is the new Can-Am Spyder RT Limited feature package. It starts with all the luxury features of the Spyder RT-S package, such as premium audio system and adjust-on-the-fly rear air suspension, and adds a handlebar-mounted Garmin Zumo‡ 660 GPS, four custom-fit semi-rigid travel bags and a travel cover. A striking Pearl White colour and specially embroidered seat finish off what is a luxurious factory offering in riding.

For roadster sport enthusiasts, BRP designers make the styling of the top-of-the-line Can-Am Spyder RS-S even more aggressive. Both new metallic colour choices – Alloy Orange and Pure Magnesium – are complemented with a black two-tone colour scheme and a host of black elements, including six-spoke alloy wheels, fenders and carbon-black aluminum components.

Several other 2011 Can-Am Spyder RS and Spyder RT models feature new colour choices, most notably the addition of Viper Red as an option for the Spyder RT-S package.

BRP’s Can-Am Spyder development team also focused on key refinements. A new calibration for the front shocks on Spyder RT models reduces body roll, adding even more confidence in corners. Revisions to the windshield and deflectors keep RT drivers and passengers cooler in warm conditions without reducing protection. And the hood of Spyder RS roadsters can now be opened with just one hand and the engine running. Every roadster is improved in some way for 2011.

The 2011 edition of its Can-Am Spyder Parts, Accessories and Riding Gear collections. Whether for long or short rides, BRP takes the worry out of packing with its new and expanded Can-Am Spyder storage solutions. Spyder RT riders will be able to add more eye-catching style to their mounts with 18 new chrome accessories and HID Xenon lights. Customized style will be a cinch for long distance riders with the RT-622 trailer's new colours.

High style and leading edge technology also meet in the 2011 Can Am Spyder clothing line-up, with the revolutionary Kavalier jacket as the perfect case in point. This jacket offers body temperature regulation with a combination of Sympatex‡, Outlast‡ and UV reflection technologies; 100% water and wind resistance without compromising breathability; and abrasion resistance with a mix of Cordura‡ 500 and 1000, and stitch-free Super‡ fabric. These products and the complete line-up will be available at Can-Am Spyder dealers as well as online, starting in November 2010.

Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (BRP), a privately-held company, is a world leader in the design, development, manufacturing, distribution and marketing of motorised recreational vehicles. Its portfolio of brands and products includes: Ski-Doo and Lynx snowmobiles, Sea-Doo watercraft and boats, Evinrude and Johnson outboard engines, direct injection technologies such as E-TEC, Can-Am all-terrain and side-by-side vehicles and roadsters, as well as Rotax engines. Can-Am Spyder RTS Roadster, 2010

Can-Am Spyder RTS Roadster, 2010

Washington, D.C., September 2, 2009 – BRP introduced the new Can-Am Spyder RT roadster in response to specific consumer demand for a touring platform. The 2010 Can-Am Spyder roadster line-up now includes the Spyder RS (roadster sport) and the Spyder RT (roadster touring) models.

The introduction of the touring model coincides with a substantial gain in market presence on the heels of strong consumer demand since the roadster’s launch more than two years ago. Driven by a passionate owner community, the innovative three-wheel concept has become a global phenomenon in more than 50 countries to-date with authorized BRP dealers.

The Can-Am Spyder RT roadster powered by a Rotax 991 engine with Electronic Throttle Control optimized for touring stays true to the brand’s promise to deliver a perfect balance of performance and peace of mind. The roadster features the same acclaimed BOSCH-engineered Vehicle Stability System (VSS) as found in the Spyder RS roadster, which includes Anti-lock Brakes, Traction Control and Stability Control systems. The VSS, coupled with the inherent stability of the roadster’s ‘Y-architecture’ and overall ease of use reinvents riding for enthusiasts of all skill levels.

BRP was also introducing an industry-first optional RT622 trailer package, providing an additional 622 litres (22 cu. ft) of storage, designed specifically for the Spyder RT roadster and compatible with the vehicle’s stability system.

The Spyder RT roadster will be available for trial at authorized BRP dealerships this fall. Consumers currently have the option to pre-order Premiere Edition Spyder RT-S roadsters for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2009.
