Ben Hur's "I Am Spartacus" Motorized Chariot Art Car

Ben Hur's I Am Spartacus Motorized Chariot Art Car
I happen to see Spartacus last night and then went online and Googled the best line in the movie, "I Am Spartacus". What I found was this motorized chariot which was NOT in the movie Spartacus, but did in fact play a major role in the movie Ben Hur with Charlton Heston ("from my cold dead hands" guy). I would definitely stay away from the deadly hubcaps-o-death.

Camper Bike – Pedal-Powered RV For One

Camper Bike – Pedal-Powered RV For One
Photo via

This three wheeled pedal powered camper RV was designed by Boston-based artist Kevin Cyr, that is both a fully functioning RV and the subject of a number of Cyr’s amazing paintings.
The pedal powered camper was constructed in April 2008 and is built for one. Attached to a heavy duty tricycle frame made to haul goods, the cab-over easily sits on the back platform. Like a turtle shell this camper goes anywhere the owner can bike it. The camper’s interior features small and efficient appliances as well as a place to sleep and storage.

The Grass Car

For the longest time I have been fascinated by grass covered cars. Its a whole other world when people cover vehicles in astroturf or even better real grass. The later takes a bit more skill as you will see in the video of a guy who started doing that in the late eighties. I did a search on Google and Flikr and found a few more vehicles covered in this stuff, the effect is simply amazing. Talk about an eco friendly green car.

Brooklyn, New York artist Gene Pool is featured in this short video from the movie Wild Wheels by Harrod Blank

Gene Also did a Grass Bus

And here are some other Grass Cars I found on Flikr
