Tank Goes Balloonistic at Kids Party

 Balloon Tank by Idee Inges

This balloon tank was created by German artist Idee Inges who takes symbols of childhood parties and transforms them into a war tank: The quintessential weapon of destruction. Celebration and destruction? Or perhaps the celebration of destruction? I don't know what that means really I just found this on The Dirt Floor and it seemed just right to add it to my ever expanding collection of art tanks. Its very interesting to see two diametrically opposed objects brought together in a form of a tank made up of balloons, not so good for war but very good for birthday parties.

Weapon of Mass Instruction - The Argentinian Book Art Tank Strikes Again

Weapon of Mass Instruction - Arma de Instruccion Masiva - The Argentinian Book Art Tank Strikes Again
The Argentinian Book Art Tank - Via

Today I found a posting about an Argentinian artist who has created a Book Tank called 'Weapon of Mass Instruction" or “Arma de Instruccion Masiva”.  Raul Lemesoff converted a 1979 green Ford Falcon into a moving library cruising down the busy streets of Buenos Aires giving out books. The Ford falcon he drives around once belonged to the Argentinean armed forces during its dictatorship but is now covered with over 900 hardcover books. He travels cross-country handing out free literature for people in the cities of Argentina and in remote areas where schools and books are scant. He also accepts donations in order to supply schools in need.

During  an interview he said “The Weapon of Mass Instruction is meant to get people to recognize various aspects of life: sharing, education, and also to have a good time. It’s a contribution to peace through literature.”

By taking what was once a symbol of suppression and violence, Raul has transformed it into a peace campaign of communication through recycled books.

Volvo Tank and Helicopter Banger Rally Art Car

End2End is a Land's End to John O'Groats banger rally in the UK. The event is based around camping rather than hotels, although we don't mind teams doing guest houses if camping is too rough.

However, we do encourage caravans on this event. Its a Banger Rally meets Carry On Camping.

With that said, Team Atlantic Booze Cruisers took up the challenge of making a caravan theme for their art car and caravan. They took a perfectly good volvo with a camper and turned into a Tank with a gun turret of unknown fire power. The caravan was made to look a like a bloated RAF helicopter. Not sure if it will ever take to the sky's, but I am sure its very comfy on the inside. Bernard Montgomery would be proud of these troops.

Only the mind of a warped individual (Rob) could possibly come up with the Volvo Tank and Helicopter.

You decide:

a) we like how your mind works, Rob
b) we are actually quite disturbed how your mind works, Rob
or c) hey, I can do better than that!

Enjoy the build pictures!

"End Times" Car - Less Art, More Armor

Only I can go from fashion week to mad max in one post but this Mad Max Bad Boy is freaking awesome. Some say we are living in the "end times" and if that is the case I want to be driving this around town when I go shopping for my $100 loaf of bread at Costco. That 's were I will be getting my $150 gallon of gas, 50 Caliber rounds, propane for my flame thrower, grease for my tank tracks, battery for the CB radio, DW40 for rusty hinges and turtle wax for the paint job. It tends to get a bit scuffed up when the vermin trying to steal my bread bounce of the hood at high speeds. Mad Max eat your heart out, I bet you didn't have bullet proof front wheels like these.

Pink Tanks - Battling in Malls this Christmas Season

All I can say is, either the military run out camo paint or battles are now fought in malls. Those sales are getting pretty dangerous out there this Christmas season and the only way to ward off the lunatics is to hose them down with some decaff chai latte. On overnight mission the tanks need to be covered in tea cozy's to keep the chai warm and ready for action. I have no idea were that all cam from.
