Golden Dream - Rolls Royce With a Hemi Engine

Golden Dream - Rolls Royce With a Hemi Engine - Art Car Central
Golden Dream Rolls Royce with Hemmy - by Ivan Mitev Photography

I stumbled upon this ostentatious golden beauty tonight and had to put it up on art car central. Not only is it a Rolls-Royce covered in gold but its got a Hemi engine of epic proportions. This vintage 1970 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow had an "ordinary" 6.75-liter V8 swapped out for a 592 Hemi, complete with dual-stage nitrous system for a reported output of over 1,000 horsepower. The chrome engine that pops out of the hood might not be the Queens car since it take away from the usually-dominant classic grille, but the hand stitched leather-covered roll cage is both classy and safe at high speeds.

Tesla Art Car For Sale - Tesla Motors finally gets it

Tesla Art Car For Sale Side

Tesla Motors finally got in the art car game by commissioning their very own Tesla Roadster art car created by digital media pioneer Laurence Gartel, whose commercial work includes glossy magazine advertisements for Absolut vodka.

The car is for sale for only $109,000, but because it features a vinyl car wrap, the buyer will have to pony up a few more bucks for the art work which by the way has a shelf life of about 5 years. via cnet.

Massive 1950 Dodge Power Wagon built by the "Rainbow Sheikh"

I was recently sent this video about the worlds largest 1950 Dodge Power Wagon built out in the middle of Arabian desert. It weighs about 50 tons, its 64 times the original size and was so big it had to be built in the desert from about 25 major parts made in Abu Dabi. It's big enough to live in and has a master bedroom in the main upstairs cab. The tail gait lowers with a motor to make a balcony with an incredible view of the desert. It has wheels from a large oil rig, windshield wipers from a ocean liner and headlights that cost $1,500 each. This behemoth was built by Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan aka The Rainbow Sheikh who is a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Psychedelic Bentley Art Car for the Beatlles

by jefg99
This 1956 Bentley SI, was designed by John Lennon and is housed at the Sarasota Classic Car Museum, Sarasota Florida. A crazy paint job for a super crazy expensive art car. I wonder what "Mr" Bentley thinks of this?

Mercedes with Ultra Bling Factor- Car Covered in Crystal

I am expanding the types of cars I feature on art car central, frankly because I need more to do even though there are a ton of art cars out yet to be discovered. This Mercedes was made by D.A.D and on their web site they sell all kinds of accessories covered in crystal and a bunch of it. This car is what I call Ultra Bling and will be a regular part of this blog. Sorry I couldn't help my self.

Lamborghini Wall Art Car

Richard Moriarty decided to hang his 1974 Lamborghini on a wall in his home when he had enough of having it towed "because the engine kept stalling". Its one way to turn you car into art and the best part is the great gas millage, no more expensive car repairs and he will never loose his car in the parking lot.

John Lennon and His Rolls-Royce Art Car

Originally the car was painted matt black overall but John got tired of it and in April of 1967, visited J.P. Fallon Limited, a coachworks company located in Chertsey, Surrey. They then commissioned "The Fool" - a Dutch team of gypsy artists, to paint the car "psychedelic" at a cost of £2,000 (or about $4,200 Cdn).

John’s newly painted psychedelic car drew some public outrage when a old woman, in London’s downtown, attacked the car using her umbrella and yelling: "You swine, you swine! How dare you do this to a Rolls-Royce." Obviously, the Rolls-Royce is passionately regarded in England as one of the many symbols of British dignity!

This is one car we won't be seeing in any of the parades, and by far the most expensive and famous art cars that was bought for $2,299,000 in 1985 by Mr. Jim Pattison’s Ripley International Inc. for exhibition at Ripley’s "Believe It Or Not" museum.

John Lennon's car is featured in more detail in this tribute youtube video of him and his Rolls-Royce, with the "Lucy in the sky with diamonds" sound track

Lamborghini Art Car

I found this beauty at Top Speed, a Lamborghini Art Car. First of all its probably the fastest art car out there and second triple wow on the incredible art work on it. That is a bold move, a really nice car with bold tribal looking art, almost primitive and savage, in a good way. The only problem is that its too fast for most art car parades, most art cars out there have an average top speed of 55mph and a 0-60 in about 15 minutes with all the stuff glued on and sticking off the roof rack. Overall a very nice and sweet ride!!!!
